今朝はとても冷え込んだちはや園地です。

園地内では、たくさんのシモバシラが出来ていました。
シモバシラとは、土の中の水分が地表に染み出して凍ったもの。
寒ーい日の朝に見ることが出来ます。



シモバシラができた日に歩いていると
土がシャーベットみたいにシャリシャリ音をたててくれます。
ひそかな楽しみだったりします(笑)

そんな土の中からひょっこり、フキノトウがこんにちは！

春ですね！ついフキノトウを見ると天ぷらにしたくなる私ですが
ちはや園地内の動植物は採取禁止なので、ぐっとこらえます(笑)

アセビもかわいい花で出迎えてくれます。



早春を代表するアセビ。
葉っぱに毒があり、馬が食べると酔ったように苦しむところから「馬酔木」と書きます。
でも、とってもかわいいお花で、花言葉は「清純な心」。
葉っぱと花は別物なんですね！

その横には、まだ冬の名残り、マンサクがまだまだ綺麗に咲いています。


まるで、冬と春が共存しているかのような不思議な一日。
最後に、みなさんが楽しみにされているカタクリちゃん。

開花まで・・もうすぐ、もうすぐ。
カタクリが咲くと、春が本当にやってきた感があります。
でも、明日の金剛山の天気予報は雪。
私たちも、最後の雪かもと気を引き締めています。
登山でお越しになる際は、念のためにアイゼンお持ちくださいね。








Mix of winter and spring



It's very cold this morning at Chihaya-enchi Park.



There were many needle ice (shimobasira) in the park.

Needle ice is water in the soil that seeps out to the surface and freezes. You can see it on cold mornings. (Photo 1-2)

When I was walking on the day when needle ice appeared, the soil makes a crunchy sound like sherbet. It's my secret pleasure (lol)

Hello, Fukinoto (Butterbur scape)!

It makes me feel spring! Whenever I see fukinoto, I want to make tempura, but....

It is prohibited to collect plants and animals within Chihaya-enchi Park, so you never pick it! (lol)



Asebi (Japanese Andromeda) also welcomes you with cute flowers. (Photo 4)



Asebi is a symbol of early spring. (Photo 5-6)

The leaves are poisonous, and when a horse eats them, it suffers as if it were drunk, hence the name "horse-drunk tree".

However, they have very cute flowers, and its flower language means "pure heart."

Leaves and flowers are two different things!



Next to it, witch hazel (Mansaku) are still blooming beautifully, a remnant of winter. (Photo 7)



It was a strange day, as if winter and spring were coexisting.

Lastly, here is cutie Katakuri (Dog tooth violet), who everyone is looking forward to. (Photo 8)

Wait for a while until flowering....it may be around the corner. When the katakuri blooms, it makes us feel like spring has truly arrived.



However, tomorrow's weather forecast for Mt. Kongo is snow.

We are also bracing ourselves for the last snowfall.

When you come for mountain climbing, please bring crampons just in case.
