春があふれているちはや園地。
どうしても野草の開花情報に追われてしまう私たちですが
そんな中、野鳥たちも元気です！

四季の谷で、キレイな声のさえずりがトレードマークのミソサザイに出会いました。
何やら口にくわえています。

苔をくわえて、巣材運びをしているもようです。

ミソサザイの名前のいわれ。
私は「味噌みたいな茶色い身体だからかな？」と思ってましたが(笑)
どうやら「溝」から来てるようです。
「サザイ」は「些細な事」をしめす「ささい」から来た「ササキ」が
小さい鳥を表すそうです。
溝にいるくらい小さなかわいい鳥、ミソサザイ。
短い立った尾っぽがなんとも言えずにかわいいですよ!


ミソサザイに気を取られていたら・・
上の方でカサカサ。

アオゲラのメスがいました！


あ！アオゲラのオスもいる―――♪

アオゲラのオスとメスはよく似ていますが、見分けポイントは頭の赤い場所!
モヒカンのように赤い筋がシュッと入っているのがオス。
頭頂部から赤い筋が入ってるのがメスですよ。


いつもは、そんなに気に留めない（ごめんね・・）ヒヨドリも
アオゲラと同じ木に登場！


樹液を吸っていました。


さて、最近、同じく四季の谷でよく聞く「ホーホケキョ！」

ウグイスです。


ホーホケキョ！の「ホー」で息を吸って、「ホケキョ！」で息を吐くらしいのですが
口笛で練習してみると・・・なかなか難しい
みなさんも、一度練習してみてください(笑)！！！！！

四季の谷で「フィーフィー」っ言ってるゴジュウカラも元気です♪

あ！なんか樹木に蓄えていた餌を取り出しているようです。
たくさん食べてね！！！

今日は、野鳥さんたちにたくさん頑張ってもらいました(*'▽')

Wild birds are also cheerful as same as wildflowers!

Chihaya Enchi is full of spring.
We are always busy with by wildflower flowering information.
In such a season, the birds are fine too!

In Shiki-no-tani Pathway, I met a Wren, well-known for its beautiful chirping voice.

It has something in its mouth. (Photo 1)
It seems to be carrying nest materials with moss in its mouth. ()Photo 2)
Origin of the name of Miso-sazai (Wren).
I thought, "Is it because they have a brown body like miso?"(lol)
It looks like it's coming from "mizo (ditch)".
"Sazai" comes from "sasai" which means "small trivial things".
The word, "Miso-sazai" represents a small bird.
Wrens, cute little birds that are small enough to be in a ditch.
The short standing tail is indescribably cute!

When I was looking at a Wren...
I heard rustling sound above.
There was a female Green Woodpecker! (Photo 3)
Oh, there was also a male Green Woodpecker ---♪ (Photo 4)

Males and females of Green Woodpeckers look a lot alike, but you can tell them apart by the red spot on their heads!
The male has red streaks like a mohawk.
Females have red spot only at the top of their heads.

Oh, there looked a Bulbul, I'm usually not care about it (sorry, Bulbul),
It appeared in the same tree as the green woodpecker!
It was drinking sap. (Photo 6-7)

By the way, recently, I often hear the chirping sound of "Ho-hokekyo!" in Shiki no Tani Pathway.
It's from a Warbler. (Photo 8-9)

How to chirp ho-hokekyo: It seems that you take in your breath with the ``ho'' and exhale with the ``hokekyo!''
Trying to whistle like that... it's quite difficult.
Everyone, please practice once (lol)! ! ! ! !

Oh! It seems to be taking out the food that it stored in the tree.
Eat a lot! ! !

本日（4月2日）11時～と13時～、ガイドウォークを実施します。



春の花が咲きそろってきたちはや園地で、
ガイドの楽しいお話を聞きながら園内を散策します。
みなさんも色んな春を見つけてくださいね。
参加料はおひとり様100円です。

ご予約は不要ですので、開始時間までに
ちはや星と自然のミュージアムにお越しください。
たくさんのご参加をお待ちしております。

Guided walks will be held today (April 2nd) from 11:00 and 13:00.

In the forest park where spring flowers are in full bloom,
Take a stroll through the park while listening to a fun story from your guide.

Participation fee is 100 yen per person.

Please visit the Chihaya Museum of Stars and Nature.
