お知らせしたいと思います。

まずは、山麓のイベントから。
星撮りのススメ

プロの星景写真家・湯浅光則さんが講師をつとめる
星の写真の撮り方講座です。
去年も大好評でしたが、今年はこの講座を山麓で実施！
登山不要で、お気軽にご参加いただけるようになりました。

湯淺光則さんはNORI YUASAとして、
星の写真をたくさん世に送りだしておられます。
また、星を撮りたい方に分かりやすく全国で講座を開かれていて
私もこの仕事を始める前からの大ファンです。

Location: Mt. Kongo Trail Parking Lot → Map here
Participation fee: 1,000 yen
(There is a participation fee discount if you use the Mt. Kongo Trail Parking Lot on the day. )
What to bring: Camera, smartphone, tripod
*If it is cloudy or rainy, the event will be postponed to the next day, September 8 (Sun)

This is a course on how to take photos of the stars, taught by professional starry sky photographer Mitsunori Yuasa.
Last year's course was a big success, but this year we're holding it at the foot of the mountain!
No climbing is required, so you can feel free to join us.

Under the name NORI YUASA, Mitsunori Yuasa has
released many photos of the stars to the world.
He also holds easy-to-understand courses across the country for those who want to take photos of the stars, and I've been a big fan of him since before I started this job.
You can find Professor Yuasa's page here.

The course will be easy for beginners to understand, so why not try taking photos of the stars with your own camera or smartphone?
This is an event that requires reservations.

The second event at the foot of the mountain is...
Mt. Kongo Foothills Stargazing. (Poster 2)

Date and time: September 28 (Sat), 19:30-21:00
Location: Osaka Prefectural Kongo Mountain Trail Parking Lot → Map here
Participation fee: 700 yen
(There is a participation fee discount if you use the Mt. Kongo Trail Parking Lot on the day.)
※If it rains, the event will be canceled.

No climbing required! This is a very popular event every time! The last time was also sold out quickly, so please make your reservation early ♪

Let's see the beautiful starry sky at the foot of Mt. Kongo!!
After the starry sky commentary, after actually looking at the stars with the Chiha Star Telescope,
you can also experience operating the telescope yourself ♪

Bird watching seems fun, but I don't know the tricks, and I'm worried I won't be able to find birds by myself.
Everyone has binoculars, but I don't know how to use them...
Or maybe I don't even have binoculars in the first place!! !! !!

Even if you're like that, it's okay♪
First, we'll give you a lecture on basic knowledge and teach you how to use binoculars!
We also have binoculars available for free rental (^▽^)/
After that, go around Chihaya-enchi Park with the instructor and enjoy bird watching♪

Guided Walk (Poster 5)

*The guided walk on September 1 will be canceled due to bad weather forecast.

Nature guides who love Chihaya Park will guide you through the park in a fun way. Depends on the guide, the ways for approaching nature is different.
This is an event that you will never get bored of, and no reservations are required.

Every fourth Sunday of the month...
We have a regular bird watching event.

The season has entered autumn, and it is now the season to enjoy migratory birds.

This is an event where you can take a leisurely stroll through Chihaya-enchi Park, a paradise for wild birds.

No reservations are required! We will depart in front of the Museum at 10am on the day ♪

昨日、月一回の野鳥観察会が行われました。今回はスタッフを入れて13名。天候も不安定そうで前回あまり見られなかったこともあり、心配していましたが今回は様変わりです。

○展望台近くで木葉越しに動く姿が・・・。ウグイスの幼鳥です！
探し出すと向こうもこちらを見ていました。

多くの野生生物は、人間が見つけるより先に気づいて間合いを計っていることが多いので、今回も向こうに見張られていたのかも。

○四季の谷ではヤマガラがオトシブミを捕食している姿が見られました。エゴノキの実などの他にもいろいろなものを食べるんですね。

オトシブミの中には虫が産卵した卵や幼虫がいるのですが、葉にくるまっている虫の幼虫も探し出して食べるんですね。

木の向こうで動く鳥の中にはキビタキも。ここでは背中程度しか見えませんでしたが、観察会終了後のキャンプ場では全身がくっきり。

○金剛山遊歩道付近ではヒガラやコゲラ、エナガ、ソウシチョウも登場。

○今回の圧巻はキバシリです。太い木の幹や枝を動き回っているのを発見！素早い動きになかなかピントが合わないので大苦戦。でも、何人も居るとちゃんと撮影できる人も。うれしいですね。

○そのほかコジュケイやアオゲラの声など併せて21種類の鳥を楽しむことができました。

○今回の観察会ではキバシリが圧巻でしたが、観察会開始前にはサンショウクイも確認されています。

○特に、下山時にはリュウキュウサンショウクイの幼鳥まで見つかっているのです。
　リュウキュウサンショウクイはサンショウクイの亜種でおなかの部分がグレーな所などが異なります。

　リュウキュウサンショウクイなどの鳥の食べ物調査にも参加されている川上由希さんやTKさんの撮影です。リュウキュウサンショウクイの幼鳥が金剛山で確認されたのは初めてかもしれません。

Bird watching event on August 25th
Yesterday, we had our monthly bird watching event. This time, there were 13 people, including staff. The weather seemed unstable and we didn't have seen many birds last time, so we were worried, but this time it was completely different.

○A figure moving through the leaves near the observation deck... It's a young Bush warbler (Uguisu)!
When we were looking at it, it was also looking at us.

Many wild animals notice us before we notice them and gauge the distance, so it may have been watching us this time as well.

○At Shiki no Tani, we saw a varied tit (Yamagara) preying on a leaf-rolling weevils (Otoshibumi). It eats a variety of things other than the fruit of the Japanese snowbell (Ego-no-ki).

Inside the rolled leaf, there are eggs and larvae laid by insects, but it also finds and eats the larvae of insects wrapped in leaves.

Among the birds moving behind the trees, there was a Narcissus flycatcher (Kibitaki). We could only see its back here, but at the campsite after the observation, we could see its whole body clearly.

○ Coal tits (Higara), Japanese Pygmy Woodpeckers (Kogera), Long-tailed Tit (Enaga) and Peking Robin
(Soushicho) could also be seen near the Mt. Kongo promenade.

○ The highlight of the day was a Treecreeper (Kibasiri). We found it moving around on the trunks and branches of thick trees! It was hard to focus on its quick movements. But some people were able to get a good shot when there were many of us. It was great. We could see several pauses of it.

○ We were able to enjoy totally 21 different kinds of birds, including the sounds of Chinese Bamboo Partridge (Kojukei) and Green Woodpecker (Aogera) in addition to the above.

○ We also saw an Ashy Minivet (Sanshokui) before the observation started.

○ In particular, we even found a juvenile Ryukyu　Minivet on the way down.
Ryukyu Minivet is a subspecies of Ashy Minivet, and is different in that its belly is gray.
These photos were taken by Yuki Kawakami and TK, who are also participating in food surveys of birds such as Ryukyu Minivet. This may be the first time that a juvenile Ryukyu Minivet has been spotted on Mt. Kongo.

その場でイベントを中止、解散となることがあります。

そこで、今日は、園地の自然を・・

まずは・・朝イチでカサコソ・・・

あ！リスさんだ、おはよう♪

朝靄の中、チョコチョコと動いていましたよ。

カサコソしているのは、この子も。
だけど、動いてるのは木の上じゃなくて、木の根元。

ヤマドリです。
まだ若い子のようで、尾っぽは成鳥に比べると短め。


若い子といえば、最近よく見かけるクロツグミの幼鳥。

さて、ここ一週間、かわいい姿を見せてくれているのが・・

It's been a while since I've posted about nature

The heat has subsided a little at Chihayaenchi Park near the top of Mt. Kongo.
here were a lot of events in August, so I wasn't able to post any nature information.
So today, I'll be posting about nature at the park...

First of all... rustling first thing in the morning...
Oh! It's a squirrel, good morning♪ (Photo 1-2)
It was moving around in the morning mist.
Another one was rustling too.
But it's not moving on the tree, it's at the base of the tree.

It's a copper pheasant (Yamadori).
It seems to be still young, and its tail is shorter than that of an adult bird. (Photo 3-4)

Speaking of young birds, there's a juvenile Japanese black thrush (Kuro-tsugumi) that we've seen a lot recently.
Mr. KI, who always provides us with photos, captured this moment.
It had an earthworm in his mouth...
and ate it in a single bite (^^) (Photo 5-6)

Well, what has been showing off its cuteness for the past week is...a Siberian Blue Robin (Koruri).
It seems to be a young male. (Photo 8-10)

Of course, the wild plants are doing well too!
The name Mizuhikisou (Persicaria filiformis) comes from the mizuhiki (paper strings) used for wrapping paper. (Photo 11)

An even more auspicious name, Kinmizuhiki or Golden-mizuhiki (Photo 12).
